MAC Cosmetics Sugarsweet CollectionLaunch Date: March 19th, 2009 (North America), April 2009 (International)Collection
Description: Who cares if the candy man can… it’s the cupcake ingenue who’s caught the sweet spot this season. Temptation is everywhere - luscious, whipped-cream decadent, deliciously decorative frosting colours and sugared almond combinations. Like peering through the window of a Parisian patisserie, you’ll want to become one of each! Have fun with a new Red Velvet recipe Shadestick. Tricolour Lipglass is like a mille feuille of layered lip gloss colours, each gives way to the next in a triple-layered pearl-swirl of prettiness; add extra yum to Eye Shadow; Perfect Topping Mineralize Skinfinish is the ultimate cake walk. We could eat you up.
::I'm sure everyone has seen the launch of these sweet treats from MAC, but I decided to jump on board and add a post. My makeup buddy and myself went to explore these sweet treats at my local MAC counter during our lunch hour and I was pretty excited because we were the first two to test everything out. I knew there was some things going on with the original ad, but I still thought the display would be a little bigger, but anyway I bought 2 things from this collection...Lollipop loving lipstick and the Simply Delicious Trio Lipglass. I missed this lipstick when it came out with the Fafi collection so I was definitely going to get it this time around and the look of the Trip Lipglass had me sold at first glance because of how pretty all 3 colors were in one tube.
::OK! Here's the real review! It couldn't wait until I got home to try these on so while I was on my break at work I tried them on and I absolutely HATED how it looked on me! Lollipop Lovin looked green with a goldish tint and the Simly Delicious Trio Glass looked flat out clear. I tried it on a few more times throughout the day and I still didn't like it! I was so dissapointed because I thought I was really going to love this collection. I felt bad for returning the items, but if I would have kept them...I wouldn't have used them. I didn't end up getting anything else from Sugarsweet because the powders look to light for my skintone, the eyeshadows are pretty, but I have Club, and I also have colo
Pros: The colors are so pretty and great for spring looks. The Trioglass is a good concept and it looks gorgeous in the tube. More than just neutral tone Shadesticks.
Cons: The colors can be too light for someone that has a darker skintone. You can barely get anything out of the Trioglass container.
