The New Me...I did the Big Chop!
::Aaaaahh the sweet smell of liberation! I did it, I finally did it! I did the big chop on Tuesday, October 27th, and it feels damn good to get rid of my relaxed ends. Though my hair wasn't super long or anything, but it felt as if it was weighing me down or in the way of things. I made up in my mind that this is it, and I just couldn't deal with the hassle of managing two hair textures. I grabbed a pair of scissors and a wide tooth comb and I began cutting it, then my youngest nephew cut off a big chunk, and my sister cut the majority of it. Yep...my family got in on the fun of cutting off my tresses! When my sister cut the very last piece, I felt like a free bird!
::I know many people save there hair as a keepsake after they cut it, but I looked at my chopped off hair as it layed limp and lifeless in the trash and I didn't even mourn the loss. All I could think of is this is the death of my relaxed hair that I've had since I was 10 years old, and the birth of my new journey of napturality!
::I'm at work rocking my twa and posing when my ace should be working and *eh hem..cough * emailing my friends. =p
::SOoooo this initially wasn't going to be a LOTD post, but I do have on a little bit makeup in this pic and as you can see...its VERY subtle and I was definitely being a minimalist. I was running late for work, so I think I achieved this look in barely five minutes! lol
Okay this is what I slapped on...Face: Monistat/Primer, Revlon Color Stay Foundation in #400 Caramel (combo/oily version), & MAC MSFN in Dark
Eyes: MAC Powerpoint Eyeliner in Engraved & Maybelline Colossal Lash Mascara in Glam Black
Cheeks: Nada
Eyebrows: Eek! Didn't have time to do them!
Lips: MAC Dazzleglass in Baby Sparks
::Here is another pic of my bowling ball head! It feels great to just wake up in the morning and not have to worry about trying to prevent my hair from getting wet in the shower. I just put some Cantu Leave-In Conditioner and Coconut Oil in my hair...rubbed my hands back and forth and walaa!
::I read so much about the different hair types and I just can't seem to figure out what type my hair falls under. I'm thinking on the lines 3b/3c *sigh* I'm so unsure so If anyone can give me some insight..I would greatly appreciate it! :)
