Honey Facial Recipe

:: I love to exfoliate my skin and give myself facials as a way to pamper myself as well as make my skin soft. One facial that I love to use is a Honey Facial. I love this facial because it's a natural exfoliator and it won't break the bank. =o)
What You'll Need:
  • Honey
  • Witch Hazel
  • Cotton Facial Pads
  • 1 Medium Towel
  • Your Favorite Moisturizer

Cleanse your face with Witch Hazel, using the cotton facial pads. Place your towel in warm water and apply to your face to open the pores. Smear honey all over your face except for your eyes and mouth until it becomes very sticky, and leave on for 15 to 30 minutes. Before rinsing off the honey, take a warm towel and cover your entire face except for your nose and leave it on until it becomes cool. Wipe off the honey, apply your favorite moisturizer. Use once a week.

Why is a honey facial beneficial for the skin?

Honey has many positive skin care properties. The most prominent is that honey is a good moisturizer. It is a good moisturizer because it grabs moisture from the environment and brings it to the skin. Compounds that have this property are known as humectants. Therefore, it is a wonderful ingredient to use to fight dry skin and to help rejuvenate the skin, which leads to less fine lines and fine wrinkles. Honey also contains alpha hydroxy acids, which help to gently exfoliate the skin. It is an ideal product for people with sensitive skin and is often used to combat the formation of pimples.

*The Honey Facial is not recommended for those who are allergic to bee stings.
